The Camondo Museum is little known. But it is one of the most interesting in Paris. It is located on the edge of Parc Monceau. Lair of the great figures of finance at the end of the 19th century. The mansion was built on the model of the Petit Trianon in Versailles. Moise de Camondo was an enthusiast of the 18th century. Its collections are intimately linked to family life. You can admire very beautiful paintings by Guardi or Vigée Lebrun. There is also furniture made by the greatest cabinetmakers of the end of the 18th century. Particularly impressive: the petrified wooden vases that belonged to Marie Antoinette or Madame Pompadour's sake bottle. The Camondo House Museum was bequeathed to France by Moise Camondo, the last of the Camondos. His son Nissim died as a pilot during the First World War. His daughter Béatrice and her 2 children disappeared in the death camps during the Second World War. Discovering the Camondo Museum is an encounter with art, architecture and history.
